Is Hily Fake? Why Negative Hily Reviews Don’t Tell The Real Truth

Let’s talk about the Hily dating app. I am an ordinary guy who just recently discovered it and used it for a couple of months. My experience ended great. I met my girlfriend Susan there, deleted the app, and almost forgot about everything connected with it.

But one day, I decided to do some online research about Hily app again. And you know what? I was so surprised that so much negativity is there!

There are some reviews I extremely strongly disagree with so I decided to share my thoughts with you guys. Hope we’ll have a decent discussion here!

What Is Hily You’re Talking About?

Before I start, let me introduce Hily to those who don’t know what that is.

Hily is a dating app that really isn’t a marriage-minded dating app or a hookup app. Rather than focusing on some end result, Hily dating is about enjoying the process. Users are encouraged to embrace the date as you are, be themselves, and just have fun dating. The Hily app lets you know that if things go slowly, that’s okay!

At least, that’s the culture they want to promote based on the Hily website.

That said, here are three reviews I want to discuss in detail.

Negative Review 1 (I’m letting out the people’s names not to call anyone out but discuss ideas only)

There are several issues here.

First, if Hily, a relatively small company had control over what was posted on the Apple Store in reviews, then a negative review like this would not have been posted. This just doesn’t make sense, yet the whole review is focused around that conspiracy theory.

Secondly, he decided to pay. Nobody pushed him to do so. Good marketing doesn’t make Hily a bad company.

In the end, the guy paid a one time payment, admittedly got some benefit out of it, and got the processing issues on the Apple side. I wish this guy had shared more about his actual experiences rather than focusing on a conspiracy theory he thinks happened.

This review claims to be about the Hily app, but in reality, doesn’t say much about the actual dating experience on Hily.

Negative Review 2

It’s disappointing how quickly people can label the Hily app scam by being so incoherent in their argumentation.

I think the reviewer was caught doing something inappropriate or just accused of that. Then, they complained the issue was with others.

I don’t understand a 1-star review for simply tracking problematic behavior and giving someone instructions on how to report suspicious behavior.

Negative Review 3

I promised that I would be objective here. So, I am gonna address this comment on Reddit very honestly.

Yeah, this is probably legit. Hily undeniably stumbled out of the gate when it first launched. There were some pretty big missteps. I don’t think they had good quality control and just didn’t have a solid vision of what they were trying to be.

At the same time, this review and other reviews in that thread are three years old. What this person wrote about doesn’t reflect what I have seen as an app user now. I’ve also read that there was a pretty big redesign in the last couple of years.

Also, one more note on dating apps, not just Hily. Folks get excited. They like to swipe. So, it is common to have a lot of activity at first, but not get any messages. Be patient.

My Final Thoughts

I met my girlfriend on Hily. We connected and chatted, and found we were so genuinely compatible. Things just clicked for us. But, even before finding her, I had a great time just talking to people and going out on a few dates.

If that sounds good to you, then Hily is a great choice. But, if you are a guy who thinks he can just throw money at an app and hook up with girls, probably not. If that’s you, maybe just try an app that’s made for that instead of getting mad and leaving angry reviews online.
