In a world where we are increasingly using automation,\u00a0 the rise of AI detector tools have started to\u00a0 cause a stir in the writing community.\u00a0 These tools are designed to help people find AI detected content,\u00a0 but they are often mistakenly citing human created work as AI content.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

AI Detector<\/span><\/a> is a great company to use because they often get the detection correct. While no AI detection tool is 100% at detecting AI created content versus human created content,\u00a0 this is by far the best company to\u00a0 have in your toolkit of writing and editing tools.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Having AI detection tools available is becoming quite popular for publishers,\u00a0 schools,\u00a0 and others who utilize human written content.\u00a0 This allows the people\u00a0 who accept submissions to verify that the submissions were created by a human being rather than artificial intelligence. There is a growing use of platforms like ChatGPT that are easy for anyone to use and free for most people to use,\u00a0 that have started to cause issues with plagiarism and to other concerns about transparency when writing content.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The promise of AI detection tools is that they can determine whether a piece of content was written by artificial intelligence or human beings.\u00a0 However, many writers are pushing back because of the false\u00a0 reporting. This technology is still new which means if you’re using a detection software to determine if something is original or AI created,\u00a0 the tool may not get it right the first time or even the second time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is why you must use AI detection tools as a part of the larger toolkit to analyze content submitted from content writers and your publishing company,\u00a0 classroom,\u00a0 or other area where you are receiving content written submissions. This detection model right now is a good tool to use alongside a conversation to confirm whether or not you feel the person has to use artificial intelligence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While writers are pushing back about AI detection,\u00a0 utilizing these tools helps them become more accurate,\u00a0 and of course if you’ve been working with someone who’s a long time writer you should be able to know if the flow is theirs or not which means you can sit and have a conversation about how the detection model flags their human content and try to work together to make sure it doesn’t happen again to the best of your abilities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The writers are starting to have their human created content being flagged as artificial intelligence and of course that’s pretty discouraging in a world fueled by automation.\u00a0 We have seen\u00a0 countless stories of authors,\u00a0 students,\u00a0 freelancers,\u00a0 and journalists having their original content being flagged as artificial intelligence with these AI detection tools.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a huge issue because many of these writers write their content to support their families and keep their household running smoothly,\u00a0 but many corporations aren’t seeming to care.\u00a0 They are using AI detection as if it is the only way to know if artificial intelligence was used and based on the report back they will fire the writers for using AI content even if they never used it.\u00a0 This controversy is very difficult for those who use writing as their mainstream of income,\u00a0 however the more we talk about it and discuss ways to handle a piece of content that has been flagged as AI even though it was human written will help us work through this with writers and business owners alike.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Many writers refuse to use AI to write their best content,\u00a0 while some will use AI to brainstorm and research ideas to use in their writing,\u00a0 the brunt of long-term freelance writers and journalists are not using artificial intelligence to draft their content.\u00a0 These writers take pride in their work and their voice and have often taken hours to write a message only to have AI detection models say that it was artificially created.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The issue with false reporting is whether or not the AI detector has been able to evaluate a lot of human and AI content.\u00a0 the more an AI detection tool has been utilized and trained on human versus AI content,\u00a0 the less likely it is to detect human content as AI or vice versa.\u00a0 This technology is only as good as the data that it has fed,\u00a0 which is why it’s imperative to use a detector that has been trained on more content than other detection models out there.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At this time there is no AI detection model that is 100% accurate all of the time,\u00a0 but you want to make sure you are using one that has been tested more properly than a newer one on the market. Some of the AI detection models will release how much data this product has consumed so that you can make your best choice on which AI detection model to have in your toolkit of editing content.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While there’s no way to know for sure how accurate an AI detection model is,\u00a0 the fact of the matter remains that we need something like this to evaluate content to make sure that our world isn’t full of automated content that has no human voice,\u00a0 human emotion,\u00a0 or human thought behind the work.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
